7 nights Nile cruise and 2 nights Cairo

After your arrival at Luxor Airport, you will be met by our German-speaking private tour guide, then transferred to the hotel ship and embarked. You have your first meal on board. Then you have the opportunity to explore the city of Luxor on an (optional) carriage ride . Your cruise ship will remain in Luxor overnight.

After breakfast and a short bus transfer you reach the pharaonic necropolis in Thebes-West. Marvel at the Valley of the Kings , where the resting places of the greatest pharaohs were discovered, as well as the Temple of Hatshepsut and then the Colossi of Memnon . Visiting the tomb of Tutankhamun is (optional).

In the afternoon the ship sets off and enjoy the Nile Valley upstream via Esna through the lock to Edfu (about 100 km south of Luxor). Meals and overnight stay on board.

After breakfast, you will travel by horse-drawn carriage to visit the impressive Edfu Temple , considered the best-preserved temple in Egypt. A large falcon statue of the god Horus guards the temple entrance. Further upstream we take you to a rare double temple of the deities Sobek and Haroeris in Kom Ombo , where there is also a crocodile museum. Then we continue on the Nile cruise to Aswan for relaxation.

After breakfast the day trip starts in Aswan. The highlight of this excursion is the visit to the Philae Temple . A motorboat will take you to Agilika Island to Philae Temple. The subsequent view of the high dam , which, with its reservoir that is over 500 km long, can be called a building of the century, is also unforgettable.
As you continue your journey, you will see the so-called Unfinished Obelisk in the quarries on the east bank of the Nile , which is considered the only evidence of the obelisk's manufacture.
In the afternoon, enjoy a boat trip on the Nile to Kitchener Island , where you can visit the Botanical Gardens.

Abu Simbel (optional): Guests interested in culture have the opportunity to take an optional excursion by bus or plane to the unique rock temples of Ramses II. In the afternoon you (optionally)
visitthe Nubian village by boat, where you get an impression of the simple life of the Nubians.

The day is entirely dedicated to relaxation. Enjoy the cruise on the Nile back to the starting point in Luxor.
Optional : In the evening you have the opportunity to experience a sound and light show at the holy lake in Karnak .

Visit the Karnak Temple complex . This Karnak complex took 2000 years to build. The greatest pharaohs left their mark here. Second stop is the Luxor Temple , which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Check out from the ship and transfer to Luxor Airport, then departure to Cairo. Upon arrival, your full-day excursion in Cairo begins. You will visit the Egyptian Museum with the largest collection of ancient Egyptian treasures, where you can also admire the fantastic tomb treasures of the young Pharaoh Tut-Ankh-Amun. Afterwards, travel to Islamic Cairo to see Saladin's citadel with the massive alabaster mosque of Mohamed Ali. From there you have a wonderful panoramic view of the capital Cairo. Afterwards, free strolling around the oriental bazaar Khan El Khalili .

Full-day tour of the earliest historic sites of Memphis and Saqqara; they are three kilometers apart, around 25 km south of Cairo. In Saqqara you will discover the secrets of the step pyramid of King Djoser. It is one of the oldest stone buildings in the world. Afterwards, travel to Memphis , the first capital of Ancient Egypt at the junction of Lower and Upper Egypt, where the alabaster sphinx and the reclining colossus of Ramses II are located. The highlight of the day is a visit to the wonders of the ancient world, the gigantic Giza Pyramids , guarded by the huge statue of the Sphinx.

Check out of the hotel and transfer to Cairo airport for your flight back home. Or you can round off your trip with a relaxing swim at the Red Sea ( Red Sea Riviera ).
