Dendera and Abydos Temples Private Tour from Luxor

1 Day

Overview

You will be picked up from your hotel in Luxor and you will drive with your expert guide about 60 km parallel to the Nile Valley to Dendera to visit one of the best-preserved temples from the Greco-Roman period. Dendera Temple was dedicated to the goddess Hathor of love, joy and music. From the temple you can enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The intact astronomical ceiling of the temple and the beautiful sculpture of Queen Cleopatra VII with Caesarion are unique. Then continue driving about 100 km to Abydos. In the Abydos Temple you can marvel at the delicate reliefs of the greatest pharaohs, Seti I and Ramses II, in front of various deities. Abydos was a place of pilgrimage where the resting place of Osiris, the god of the dead, and the entrance to the realm of the dead could be found. That’s why every Egyptian wanted to travel to Abydos once in their life. After this interesting cultural experience, you will drive back to Luxor from Abydos.
